Spring has sprung in #Calhoun and this weekend is the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy our beautiful area!
On Friday night, head to Downtown Calhoun as BBQ Boogie & Blues kicks-off. The smell of BBQ and other delicious aromas is sure to get your mouth watering! Grab a bite from one of the many food vendors and take a seat on Court Street under the twinkling tree lights to enjoy a FREE concert by The Kurt Thomas Band.
Saturday offers a full day of family fun at BBQ Boogie & Blues. Bring the kids to BB&T City Park for inflatables and rock painting with Calhoun, GA Rocks. Drift down to Court Street and Park Avenue for more FREE live entertainment featuring Courtney Dickinson. For $10, you can try the competitors’ BBQ and vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice Competition in the library courtyard. Shop the food and arts & crafts vendors, as well as, the unique boutiques in Downtown Calhoun.
If you’re looking for additional entertainment, head down to Wall Street to the Harris Arts Center where the Georgia String Band Festival will be taking place. This is an all ages event, as well. Admission is only $10 to hear some of the best bluegrass music Georgia has to offer. Kids under 12 get in for free.
On Sunday afternoon, The ROCK Garden, Gordon County’s “wee whimsical place,” is hosting a community family-fun event celebrating Spring! The event includes: bounce houses, yard games, face painting, pony rides, painting kindness rocks, health screenings, massages, food sales & free samples, prayer tent, music and Wildman’s Animal Show! Admission to The ROCK Garden is always free – donations are welcome and appreciated!
