It’s going to be a hot weekend, August 17 & 18, inside downtown Calhoun’s cool GEM Theatre!
On Friday, August 17, Resurrection: A Journey Tribute will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. This popular show faithfully recreates the experience of a Journey concert from the band’s most prolific period, employing some of Nashville’s top musicians, many of whom have performed, written or recorded with both Journey and Steve Perry. Featuring one brilliant hit single after another, the tribute offers the perfect blend of songs to enthrall all levels of Journey fans.
The show is a triumphant consummation of talent combining incredible musicianship, the vocal precision (and appearance) of the legendary Steve Perry, and a stage presence that has garnered the band nationwide acclaim, including perfromances at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, and US Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox.
And back by popular demand, Glen Templeton will return to the GEM on Saturday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Glen has developed a large fan following since he was handpicked in 2008 by Conway Twitty’s daughters to portray Twitty in a touring musical tribute to their father. “With more than 20,000 hopefuls auditioning for the part, they found a powerful voice capable of conveying many of the same qualities Conway had.” Early in his career, Glen developed a reputation as one of the best singer-songwriters playing shotgun bars and honky tonks in Nashville. That talent has propelled him to bigger stages such as The Grand Ole Opry and The Ryman. Now you can hear him in at the GEM in Georgia.
